The Titanic

many dared to board her

headed for a new found life

no one knew the ice burg

would take away their lives

they claimed it was unsinkable

and many shared their trust

now she sits abandoned

a pile of pure rust

her beauty was amazing

detailed just precise

yet 1500 people paid an awful price

there were parents with their children

husbands with their wives

all were fighting desperately

to save their precious lives

family's ripped to pieces

the guilt they must have felt

the guilt of mere survival

must have been a personal hell

why couldn't they have listened

to the warning that was sent

and slowed down the titanic

a tragity to prevent

many souls were lost that night

though many lives were saved

in the icy frozen water

1500 found their graves

the horror of so long

ago still lingers in our minds

we felt the pain and anguish

where these people lost their lives
