Difficult Lessons

How do I make you listen

what do I have to do?
I want you to appreciate

all I do for you.

My job is to teach you values

I'm suppose to show I care

But you make me think at times

that my hands are in the air.

How do I make you understand

I try to do what's right

I want to give you everything

morning noon and night

You need guidence

dicipline and love

You are in your formative years

with many years to come
As adults you'll learn your lessons

and hard ones this is true.

I want to teach you kindly

so it won't be so hard on you.
